The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to sign top female talent to their new 135 pound women’s division. UFC officials announced Tuesday that 2004 Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann and Cesar Gracie Black Belt Alexis Davis are the newest additions to the roster.

The 32-year-old McMann (6-0) remains undefeated in her pro MMA career. After a highly-decorated amateur wrestling career, McMann made her professional mixed martial arts debut in May 2011, submitting Christina Marks in just 1:41.

She reeled off three more victories in 2011, including a unanimous decision win over veteran Tonya Evinger at Titan Fighting Championships 19. McMann fought twice in 2012, winning unanimous decisions over Hitomi Akano in ProElite and Shayna Baszler at Invicta FC 2.

Alexis Davis (13-5) is a 28-year-old Canadian who has been fighting professionally since 2007. Like McMann, she also holds a win over Tonya Evinger; two in fact. Davis went 2-1 in Strikeforce, scoring a unanimous decision over Julie Kedzie and a second round TKO win over Amanda Nunes.

Davis fought twice under the InvictaFC banner, scoring submission wins over Hitomi Akano and Shayna Baszler — which, as previously stated, are also McMann’s two most recent victories.

The UFC kicks off the first fight of their new female division on February 23 when women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey makes her first title defense against former Marine Liz Carmouche in the UFC 157 main event live on Pay-Per-View.
