The Strikeforce promotion turned off the lights for the final time on Saturday night in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. However, similar to the way it burst on the scene in record breaking fashion, the main event delivered a significant upset when Tarec Saffiedine battered Nate Marquardt with huge leg kicks to become the new and final Strikeforce welterweight champion.
The co-main event saw Daniel Cormier maul Dion Staring to win via second round TKO. Josh Barnett got back on the winning track with a first round submission win, as did former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
