After a year away from the cage, Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal ( 8-1, 1 NC) will be making his long-awaited Bellator debut on January 17th.

According to mmafighting.com, the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, known as much for his showmanship as he is for his dominance inside the ring, will be fighting in the opening round of the upcoming Bellator 205 lbs tournament, set to take place at the UCI Events Center in Irvine, Calif.

Lawal last competed in January of 2011 under the Strikeforce banner, defeating Lorenz Larkin via 2nd round knockout; however, the result of that contest was ultimately overturned after Lawal tested positive for anabolic steroids.

At present, no opponent has been identified for Lawal’s return.
