Two new bout have been added to the UFC 154 card as John Makdessi (9-2) faces Sam Stout (19-7-1) in a lightweight match-up, and Ivan Menjivar (24-9) takes on Azamat Gashimov (7-1) in a bantamweight battle.

The fights were confirmed by UFC officials via Twitter on Friday.

UFC 154 will take place on Nov. 17 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The event is expected to feature a headline bout between welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and interim champ Carlos Condit. The main card will air LIVE on PPV with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook.

John Makdessi is currently riding a two fight losing streak, most recently dropping a unanimous decision to Anthony Njokuani at UFC 145 in April. Prior to that he was defeated by Dennis Hallman via first round submission at UFC 140 in December 2011. Makdessi’s last victory was against Kyle Watson via third round TKO at UFC 129 in April 2011, so this really is a must win fight for John.

Sam stout last fought at UFC on FX 4 in June, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Spencer Fisher in a bout which earned “Fight of the Night” honors. Prior to that he dropped a unanimous decision to Thiago Tavares at UFC 142 in January. Stout will no doubt look to put another notch in the win column with a big performance against Makdessi.

Ivan Menjivar was last in action at UFC 148 in July, where he dropped a unanimous decision against Mike Easton. Prior to that he had built up a three fight winning streak, defeating notable fighters such as Charlie Valencia, Nick Pace and John Albert. Menjivar now has the chance to bounce back from his last fight with a big win over Gashimov.

UFC newcomer Azamat Gashimov is currently riding a two fight winning streak, most recently defeating Azay Mamedov via first round submission at “Tsumada Fighting Championship 5” in July 2011. Prior to that he scored a first round knockout victory over Alexandr Lonov at “Shivirli MMA Tournament” in June 2009, and dropped a second round knockout loss to Alexander Keshtov in the same month. Gashimov will no doubt look to make a big statement in his UFC debut by scoring a big win over Menjivar.
