A new bout has been added to the UFC 153 card as Luiz Cane (12-4) takes on Chris Camozzi (17-5) in a middleweight matchup. The event will take place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro on Oct. 13.

News of the bout was announced today by UFC officials via Twitter.

UFC 153 will feature a headline bout between Jose Aldo and Erik Koch, who will fight for the UFC featherweight title. The event will air LIVE on PPV with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook.

Luiz Cane last fought at UFC 134 in August, where he dropped a first round TKO loss to Stanislav Nedkov. Prior to that he defeated Eliot Marshall via first round TKO at UFC 128 in March 2011, and dropped two consecutive TKO losses to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Cyrille Diabate. Cane will now look to get back into the win column with a good performance against Camozzi.

Chris Camozzi is currently riding a two fight winning streak, most recently defeating Nick Catone via third round TKO at ‘UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida’ in June. Prior to that he scored a third round submission victory over Dustin Jacoby at ‘UFC on Fox: Evans vs. Davis’ in January. Camozzi will no doubt look to pick up a third consecutive victory against Cane and continue his climb up the middleweight ladder.
