The Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation (RUFF) makes their return to Hohhot, Inner Mongolia on Saturday, Sept. 8 for RUFF 5, the third event in RUFF’s year-long Super Fight series. The show will take place at the Inner Mongolia Indoor Stadium and will provide fans with a night full of MMA action.
RUFF 5 will feature a headline bout between Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Rodrigo Caporal (6-4) and top prospect Wu HaoTian (10-2-1), who will go head-to-head in an anticipated lightweight battle. The co-main event will be a bantamweight matchup between undefeated fighter Jumabieke Tuerxun and RUFF newcomer Jiang LongYun.
Rodrigo Caporal enters this fight riding a two fight winning streak, most recently defeating Lipeng Zhang via decision at RUFF 3 in March. Prior to that he scored a first round submission victory over Teerjiang Hasitieer at RUFF 2 in December 2011, and dropped a decision to Felipe Arantes in March 2010. Caporal will no doubt look to extend his wining streak to three with a big win over Hao Tian.
Wu Hao Tian last fought at LFC 9 in June, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Damien Brown. That loss snapped a seven fight winning streak which included victories over notable fighters such as Kristoffer Persson, Roman Gundarenko, and Daniel Hooker. Wu is currently the top-ranked 70 kg fighter in China, and is looking to become China’s first MMA National Champion. Hao Tian will no doubt look to put on a big performance against Caporal, taking his first steps towards a title shot.
