Before tuning into the main event card which saw reigning Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva defeat Chael Sonnen in their highly anticipated rematch, UFC fans flocked to FX, as the UFC 148 Prelims were FX’s most-watched UFC event ever, and the 1.8 million viewers made the UFC 148 Prelims the second-most watched prelims ever, trailing only the UFC 126 Prelims.

The UFC 148 Prelims combined with two repeats of ‘Anger Management’ in all of the most coveted demographics (18-34 adults, 18-34 men, 18-49) led FX to the number one spot on the night amongst the competition.

The ratings for this broadcast were not doubt influenced by the mega-fight between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. There are early indications that the PPV could have surpassed one million PPV buys while the live gate of seven million dollars was a company record.

The next broadcast on FX will feature the UFC 149 Prelims on Saturday, July 21st, live from 5-7pm PT / 8-10pm ET. The second season of The Ultimate Fighter on FX kicks off in September. UFC 149 will be headline by a interim bantamweight title fight between former WEC champion Urijah Faber as he takes on Renan Barao.
