Thirty-four-year-old Brazilian Demian Maia (16-4) has been fighting in the UFC since 2007. On Saturday night at UFC 148, Maia picked up his tenth UFC victory with a first round TKO over one of the 170-pound division’s top contenders, Dong Hyun Kim (15-2-1, 1 NC). The loss was only the second of Kim’s nearly decade-long career as a professional.

ProMMAnow.com‘s (www.prommanow.com) Joe Gugelman (@prommanow_joe) caught up with Maia after the fight to get his assessment of how the bout played out, how it was making weight for his first bout at welterweight (170 pounds) and where he goes from here. Maia also weighed in on the outcome of the UFC 148 main event between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, both of whom he has fought before.
