If you are reading this then you have likely heard that Nick Diaz failed to show up for his “superfight” with BJJ superstar Braulio Estima at the 2012 World Jiu-Jitsu Expo in Long Beach, Calif., on Saturday. ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) was on hand for the event, and like everyone else, we were disappointed the match between Diaz and Estima didn’t happen.

However, prior to anyone knowing Diaz would pull a no-show, ProMMAnow.com reporter Joe Gugelman caught up with Nick’s coach and manager, Cesar Gracie, to talk about the match-up.

Gracie obviously has a ton of respect for Estima, so much so in fact, he was unwilling to  give a prediction or speculate on what might happen in the match. Gracie talked about Nick’s purse going to charity and also touched on Nate Diaz getting a title shot and Nick’s ongoing battle with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Stay tuned for more exclusive interviews and photos from the 2012 World Jiu-Jitsu Expo.

Gracie stated on Twitter (@CesarGracieBJJ) today that they will be releasing an official statement on Monday regarding Nick’s no-show against Estima:

“Will have a full statement tomorrow on http://graciefighter.com. Today is Mother’s day. Happy Mother’s Day!”
