BJ Penn

BJ Penn is only six months into retirement but according to UFC President Dana White, “The Prodigy” will be seen inside the Octagon at least one more time. In a post UFC 145 media Q&A, Dana White told reporters that the former Lightweight and Welterweight Champion’s fighting days were not over.

“I heard some shit that he said he was going to retire and all this stuff, He was like, ‘Nah, I’m going to fight again’.”

White’s comments come in contrast to Penn’s apparent commitment to retirement that he made one week earlier on UFC on Fuel TV’s post fight show. When asked if he would be returning to the Octagon, Penn answered:

“I haven’t made any plans to come back and fight again. [UFC president] Dana White has called me a few times, but I’m staying retired,”

Penn abruptly announced retirement after losing a unanimous decision to Nick Diaz at UFC 137. Penn’s illustrious career with the UFC started all the way back at UFC 31 and during its course Penn won the lightweight and welterweight title, becoming only the second man in the UFC to hold titles in two different weight classes. If Penn does infact fight again, who would you like to see him matched up against?
