The UFC has confirmed that featherweight fighters Ross Pearson (13-5) and Cub Swanson (16-5) will face each other at UFC on FX 4.

This event is set to take place on June 22nd in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The fight was first reported by ESPN and later made official by UFC executives.

The main event for UFC on FX 4 will be Clay Guida vs. Gray Maynard.  This is a big fight between two lightweight fighters that are relatively close to title contention.

Ross Pearson enters this fight coming off a victory over Junior Assunção at UFC 141 in his debut at featherweight as he picked up the win as a result of superior striking and takedown defense. Pearson scored notable victories at lightweight over the likes of German kickboxer Dennis Siver and Spencer Fisher before making the drop down to the featherweight division.

Former WEC fighter Cub Swanson also enters this fight with a victory under his belt after defeating George Roop at UFC on Fox 2 via TKO in the second round. Swanson will now look to make his way up the featherweight ladder with a win against Pearson. Swanson is very aggressive and won “Fight of the Night”  honors three times in the now defunct World Extreme Cage Fighting promotion.

This fight is the latest addition to the UFC on FX 4 fight card which currently appears as follows:

  •  Clay Guida vs. Gray Maynard
  •  Brian Ebersole vs. T.J. Waldburger
  •  Jim Hettes vs. Steven Siler
  •  Ricardo Funch vs. Dan Miller
