New England Fights: Mike Winters vs. Ryan Sanders to main event Fight Night 2 on April 14th

Biddeford, ME (March 5, 2012) – New England Fights! (NEF!) co-owners Nick DiSalvo and Matt Peterson are proud to announce that their next mixed martial arts (MMA) event “Fight Night II,” scheduled to be held at the Biddeford Arena in Biddeford, Maine, will feature as its Main Event a welterweight bout between undefeated Ryan Sanders (3-0) from Young’s MMA and Mike Winters (5-2) from Team Bombsquad.
“Ryan Sanders made a real statement to the MMA world with his first-round win over Dan Keefe at Fight Night I last month,” said DiSalvo.  “He can step in the cage with the best, and he can beat the best.  Ryan’s stock in this sport will only rise from here.  The sky is the limit for this young man.”
Standing across the cage from Sanders at Fight Night II in Biddeford, Maine will be his biggest challenge to date – New York’s Mike Winters.  “Don’t let the two losses on Mike’s record fool you,” warns DiSalvo.  “They were both decisions.  No one has finished this kid. One of those losses was to top-ranked Ryan Quinn who Winters took the distance.  The other loss was to a much larger George Sullivan who had a weight advantage of some twenty pounds, and Mike took him the distance too.  Mike Winters is tough, real tough, and he was riding a 4-0 win-streak as a pro before the loss to Quinn.”
“Ryan Sanders and his coach have been very clear with us that they only want the best opponents,” stated NEF! co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson.  “They got one of the best in Dan Keefe and Ryan finished him in the first round.  Now they have Mike Winters. Winters is no stranger to the big stage.  This is a guy who’s competed in Bellator and M-1. Mike is used to coming in from out-of-town and playing the role of spoiler to a hometown fighter.  Ryan will have a huge crowd from the Brewer, Maine area at the Biddeford Arena on April 14, and Winters will be looking to send all of them home disappointed in the outcome of the fight.”
