Long-running Indianapolis based mixed martial arts promotion Legends of Fighting Championship (LFC) has reached an agreement with popular Lemoore, Calif., promotion Tachi Palace Fights to serve as a talent feeder.
Tachi Palace Fights is one of the most respected and and successful regional shows in the sport today who made a name for themselves by consistently showcasing elite flyweight and bantamweight fighters, many of which have moved on to the UFC with the advent of their new 125 pound division — hence the need for new talent.
On February 10 at 8 Seconds Saloon in Indianapolis Legends of Fighting Championship will host the first round of an eight-man bantamweight tournament at LFC 51. The 135 pound tournament will be played out over the course of three events and the winner will be awarded a contract with Tachi Palace Fights.
The tournament semifinals will take place in April and the finals will be held in June.
LFC Promoter Scott Sims commented:
“Both organizations have had many fighters move up to the biggest promotions on earth and this deal will allow TPF to scout new Midwest talent and market their event to new regions. We are very excited to be able to work with TPF and this only cements the LFC’s reputation and commitment to helping fighters move up”.
The quarterfinal round match-ups are as follows:
- Darnell Davis (7-3) vs Ruddy Gray (3-0)
- Quinn Broomfield (2-1) vs Thomas Campbell (2-1)
- Alp Ozkilic (4-0) vs Andrew Huffman (4-3)
- Chico Camus (8-3) vs Daniel Aguirre (4-1)
In addition to the eight-man “Tachi Tourney” quarterfinals at LFC 51, the event will be headlined by UFC vet Chris Price (20-2) taking on Raymond Lopez (6-2) and co-headlined with UFC vet Sean McCorkle (13-2) taking on Michael Williams (3-1).
