Top welterweights Diego “The Dream” Sanchez (23-4) and Jake “The Juggernaut” Ellenberger (26-5) will square off in the main event when the UFC holds its first LIVE fight card on Fuel TV on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Neb. The LIVE Fuel TV broadcast will start at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT).

Sanchez is coming back from a hand injury after spending most of 2011 on the sidelines. In his lone fight of 2011, he scored a unanimous decision victory over Martin Kampmann at UFC on Versus 3 in March. Prior to that, he defeated Paulo Thiago via unanimous decision at UFC 121 in Oct. 2010.

An Omaha native, Ellenberger will get the home field advantage against Sanchez. Ellenberger has won his last five fights, three in 2011. He is coming off back-to-back knockout victories over Sean Pierson in April and Jake Shields in September. An impressive win over Sanchez could put “The Juggernaut” in title contention.

UFC President Dana White commented on the Sanchez-Ellenberger main event:

“The welterweight division is stacked with contenders and Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger want to prove that they deserve a shot at the title. Diego is known as one of the most exciting fighters in the sport and Jake has knocked out four out of his last five opponents. This is a great fight for the fans in Omaha and it’s going to make for an awesome main event on FUEL TV.”

Also, heavyweight knockout artist Dave “Pee Wee” Herman (21-2) will return to the Octagon for his sophomore appearance as he takes on Dutch submission specialist Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve (22-5).

Another pair of heavyweights will also clash as the heavy-handed Stipe Miocic (7-0) of Ohio takes on English grappling ace Phillip De Fries (8-0, 1 NC). Both men are unbeaten and are making their second Octagon appearance.
