The UFC has announced a heavyweight fight between Brendan “The Hybrid” Schaub and Ben Rothwell which will take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at UFC 145. The tentative but unofficial date and venue for this card is March 24th, 2012, at the Bell Centre.
Brendan Schaub (8-2) is coming off of a huge upset KO loss at the hands of MMA legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira back at UFC 134. Schaub had won four prior bouts and was nearing title contention before the loss and now he looks to right the ship against another veteran in Rothwell.
Ben Rothwell (31-8) is coming off an embarrasing unanimous decision loss to Mark Hunt back at UFC 135 which saw Rothwell gass badly halfway through the fight. He is (1-2) inside the octagon and probably needs this win to stay in the promotion. Here’s the tentative card so far:
- Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills
- Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs
- Brendan Schaub vs. Ben Rothwell
