Nashville’s Dustin Ortiz (7-1) will step in for injured 125-pound champ Ian McCall (11-2) to take on Josh Rave (18-8) in a flyweight bout at Tachi Palace Fights 11 on Friday, Dec. 2, in Lemoore, Calif.

The replacement was confirmed by multiple sources close to the situation on Monday.

Ortiz last fought in May, losing a hard fought unanimous decision to top-ranked 125-pounder McCall at Tachi Palace Fights 9. It was the first loss of Ortiz’s career, who had finished all seven of his opponents prior to McCall, including two wins under the Strikeforce banner.

Fighting out of Omaha, Neb., Rave is a journeyman who comes into the bout with a vast experience advantage. Having turned pro in 2003, Rave’s career has been up and down the past few years.

He has fought twice so far in 2011, scoring a TKO win over Mike Powell (11-3) in April and winning a unanimous decision over Lewis McKenzie (12-9) in August.
