New York, NY (USA): It’s been a busy week for celebrity watchmaker Azad Watches, as they not only announced their first-ever UFC fighter sponsorship, but they also signed on as a main advertising sponsor of the first MMA comic book ever, “Joe Palooka.” Joe Antonacci, creator of the first-ever full-length, full-color MMA comic book, “Joe Palooka,” is proud to announce an exclusive agreement with Azad Watches, known as one of the finest watchmakers in the world. Through this pact, Azad will also become a sponsor of the “Palooka” series.
“Azad Watches is all about excitement and quality for its customers, just like ‘Joe Palooka’ is,” states Antonacci. “I am extremely proud to have them on-board, and look forward to seeing where our relationship takes both our brands.”
Azad Watches have been worn by top celebrities such as Donald Trump, Eva Longoria, “Dr. J” Julius Erving, Ice Cube, Tony Bennett, Piers Morgan, Barry Bonds, Cedric the Entertainer, Lil’ Wayne, Mickey Rourke, and many others. Now, the brand steps into MMA for the first time. And “Joe Palooka” is a part of it.
Fans get to see their first taste of Azad being represented in the Octagon this Saturday when the brand sponsors Nick Pace (6-2), who will face the biggest test of his young career when he battles former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres at UFC 139 in San Jose.
“It’s a good feeling to know that we made it into a comic book of this quality,” says Victor Rodriguez, Azad Watches Co-Owner. “We’re growing as fast as the sport of MMA, it seems. We’ve only been around for three years, and it’s awesome to see everything that’s happening.”
And Azad Watches is proud to be part of history. “It feels great for Azad to be stepping into the octagon as a sponsor for the first time. Along with being featured in the first-ever MMA comic book, it’s also great to be showcased on the first-ever UFC card in San Jose,” continues Rodriguez. “And it’s going to be a great fight for Nick, I believe. I feel like he’s going to win, and hopefully with a KO. Regardless, I know he will fight his heart out.
Team Palooka is also excited to support Nick through Azad as he steps into the Octagon for the fight of his life.
“Nick is a great young fighter, and Nick, Azad and the UFC are perfect together. All three are young, hip, and popular, and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep their fans happy,” concluded Antonacci.
