Former WWE superstar turned MMA fighter, Bobby Lashley (5-1), will return to the mixed martial arts cage on Nov. 11 to face TUF 10 veteran Darrill Schoonover (11-5) at Shark Fights in Lubbock, Texas.

Lashley made the announcement Monday during an interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. The part-time pro wrestler said he signed a three fight deal with the Texas-based MMA promotion.

Lashley last fought in March when he scored a unanimous decision victory over John Ott at Titan Fighting Championship 17. Albeit relatively lackluster, it was a much needed win for Lashley, who was coming off a terrible showing against Chad Griggs at “Strikeforce – Houston” in Aug. 2010 when he was unable to answer the bell for the second round.

It was the first loss of Lashley’s pro MMA career, which began in Dec. 2008 with five straight wins and notable victories over the likes of Jason Guida, Bob Sapp and Wes Simms.

Schoonover, who will put his Shark Fights heavyweight title on the line against Lashley, is coming off a first round TKO victory over Adam Padilla at “Sun City Battle” in July. Prior to that he had lost five straight fights which began with his third round TKO loss to James McSweeney at the TUF 10 Finale in Dec. 2009.
