LAS VEGAS — ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) was on hand at the Pearl inside the Palms Casino Resort Friday, Sept. 23, for “Strikeforce Challengers: Larkin vs. Rossborough” which aired live on Showtime.
In the main event, 25-year-old light heavyweight striking specialist Lorenz Larkin improved his unbeaten streak to 11 with a unanimous decision win over Utah’s Nick Rossborough. In the co-main event, Jackson’s MMA heavyweight Shawn Jordan submitted hard-hitting knockout artist Lavar Johnson with a keylock in the second round.
Also on the card, Ryan Couture got back to his winning ways by scoring a majority decision victory over Maka Watson. Jason High won a unanimous decision over Todd Moore, and in the opening bout on Showtime, Brian Melancon won a unanimous decision over Felipe Portela.
In preliminary card action, James Terry knocked out Magno Almeida in round one, Bobby Green submitted Charon Spain via arm triangle choke in round two, Christopher Spang won a unanimous decision over Joe Ray, and in the first fight of the night, King of the Cage welterweight champ, Quinn Mulhern, submitted Danny Davis Jr. with an arm triangle choke with less than a minute left in the bout.
