I’ve been sick for the past week and have only started recovering from a nonstop thrill ride of business travel and family emergencies, so you can only imagine my excitement when Richard said he was too lazy to write the blog post for the show’s intro.
But fear not, faithful listeners, as we deliver a brand new episode analyzing the torrent of speculation surrounding the UFC’s rumored move to FOX network television. Just in time for … the UFC’s official announcement of the broadcasting deal?!?! Fuck me. Luckily I don’t think we’d change anything, except maybe throw in a few quips about someone making Joe Rogan wear a suit jacket, while Dana White continues to strut around in a t-shirt and jeans.
We also recap the busy weekend of MMA action, looking at what might be or should be next for some of the weekend’s big winners – Ben Henderson and Donald Cerrone – and gigantic loser – Dan Hardy. Four losses in a row and he tried to steal a round with a takedown only to get submitted via guillotine. Hardy must really be crucial to the UK market.
Lastly, we preview the main event bouts on Bellator 48 this weekend, with former lightweight tourney winner Pat Curran taking on former Sengoku champion Marlon Sandro. I think I accidentally referred to Sandro as the former DREAM champion, but in my defense, all those MMA promotions look alike. And Richard talked about Sandro’s punching power putting a bunch of guys in an ice pond or some crap.
At some point we need to do a show recapping our biggest goofs. With any luck, people browsing with Firefox will actually be able to see it.
