In addition, as an update for the Summit, many retailers have recently signed up to exhibit their wares at the event, and more and more apparel and equipment companies are making plans to attend.

Recently, due to a scheduling conflict, the date of the event was moved from October 7th-9th to October 28th-30th. The Summit will still take place at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas as planned.

Changes from the first Fight Summit include lower admission prices, as well as twenty more booths on the expo floor. The top names in the industry are once again expected to share their knowledge as speakers at the expo. There will be speakers for those interested in a variety of different professional tracks in MMA, including coaching and gym management, fight promotion, apparel, retail and equipment, athlete management and live training.

The educational business workshops then begin at 11:00 AM and end around 5:00 PM. Friday night also features the opportunity for more networking with the Fight Summit after-party at 9 PM at a location to be determined.

“Fight Summit became the MMA industry’s trade show in 2010,” said Fight Summit manager Mike Hauben. “By keeping the same high-level of speakers as last year, changing the time of year, lowering admission cost, and developing the first true professional development platform for all MMA businesses, we only expect the show to grow and to help MMA businesses reach their goals.”

2010’s Fight Summit took place December 17th-19th at The Flamingo in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was the first conference and trade show for professionals in all disciplines and levels of the mixed martial arts community. Attendees were able to learn from industry leaders such as MMA legends Randy Couture, Mark DellaGrotte from Sityodtong, and Greg Jackson taught MMA trainers how to coach and run their academies better. Other guests included some of the top MMA apparel companies hosting clothing line seminars, including Hans Molenkamp of Triumph United, who returns for this years event, and some of the best managers in the sport, such as Ed Soares (manager to Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and more), Monte Cox (Matt Hughes, Jeremy Horn, and more), and Ken Pavia who discussed the ins and outs of MMA fighter representation. Other topics covered included academy management, PR and media relations, handling legal situations, MMA and striking seminars, apparel design, production, and sourcing, promotion marketing, and many other subjects.

“I believe there’s a huge importance of attending Fight Summit if you’re looking to be part of the MMA business world in any way,” said Mark Pavelich, President of Maximum Fighting Championship. “I truly believe this is a once in a lifetime experience to have all these experts in every field at your disposal.
