On March 30, 2002, a little promotion called Hitman Fighting Productions held an event entitled “Rumble on the Reservation” at Cahuilla Creek Casino in Anza, California. Fighting on that particular card at middleweight was a 24-year-old young man by the name of Chael Sonnen in his second professional fight taking on a young 21-year-old Jason “Mayhem” Miller in what was his fourth professional fight. After a lot of clinch work and wrestling, two fight minute rounds and a ton of takedowns, Sonnen was awarded the unanimous decision victory. Miller said after the bout Sonnen had slammed him on the canvas so many times taking him down that the cage broke. Some of the other recognizable names on this card included Rob McCullough, Jimmy Ambriz, Tiki Ghosn and Aaron Brink. Enjoy the fight!
