Read it and weep “Mr. Wonderful” fans. Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis (9-0) has been forced out of his Aug. 6 scheduled main event bout with Rashad Evans (15-1-1) at UFC 133.

MMAFighting.com first reported the news Tuesday afternoon, citing a knee injury Davis suffered in training.

Davis remains undefeated in his pro MMA career, most recently winning a unanimous decision over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-5) back in March.

Head-Kick Legend is reporting Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida (17-2) will fill in for Davis, setting up a rematch with Evans against the only fighter to ever defeat him.

Machida scored a second round knockout over Evans at UFC 98 in May 2009, taking Evans’ light heavyweight title in what was his very first title defense.

UFC 133 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. Refer to ProMMAnow.com’s Upcoming Events page for the full fight card line-up.

UPDATE (7-13-11): Multiple sources, including Head Kick Legend, have reported that Lyoto Machida turned the fight down against Rashad Evans. Stop the presses, the UFC has confirmed Tito Ortiz has accepted the fight with Rashad.
