ProMMAnow.com's own "Human Cockfighter" Brian Imes at one of Bellator's previous open tryouts. And yes, he did end up fighting on a Bellator card, cause that's how we do.

Bellator Fighting Championships will host an open tryout for professional mixed martial arts fighters on Saturday, July 16, at Daddis Fight Camps in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Registration will start at 1 p.m. ET and tryouts will begin at 2 p.m. ET sharp. Fighters taking part in the tryouts will be competing for an undercard spot on an upcoming Bellator event to be held in New Jersey.

Only fighters from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware will be eligible for a spot on the New Jersey card. However, all pro MMA fighters regardless of where they live are invited to tryout as they will be scouted for other potential future roster openings.

Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney commented on the talent  in that region of the country:

“The Tri-State area is a true MMA hotbed and rich in talent, so I’m expecting big things to come out of our July 16th tryout.”

Daddis Fight Camps is located at 3 Larwin Road, Cherry Hill, N.J., 08034. Fighters must bring MMA gloves, boxing gloves, an athletic protector and a mouthpiece.

There will be no live striking during the tryouts, but there will be live grappling. Professional mixed martial arts fighters who intend to try out must be prepared to present their MixedMartialArts.com ID.

Fighters must have unrestricted free agent status with no contractual obligation to any other MMA promotion.
