Mark Hunt (left) will make his return at UFC 135 against fellow heavyweight Ben Rothwell.

People love a good heavyweight scrap and UFC 135 just got a big one.

Pride and K-1 veteran Mark “The Super Samoan” Hunt (6-7) will face IFL veteran Ben Rothwell (31-7) at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo., on Sept. 24 on the Jon Jones vs. “Rampage” Jackson undercard.

UFC President Dana White confirmed the news on Tuesday, stating verbal agreements were in place.

Hunt is coming off a second round “knockout of the night” win over Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 127 in February. It was a much needed win, as he had lost his six previous fights.

Hunt holds the distinction of being the only sub-500 fighter in the UFC.

Rothwell is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Gilbert Yvel at UFC 115 in June 2010. He suffered a torn ACL in the fight and had to undergo surgery.

“Big Ben” made his UFC debut in Oct. 2009 with a second round TKO loss to Cain Velasquez. He has won eight of his last 10 bouts.
