The UFC has announced a bantamweight fight between Ivan Menjivar and Nick Pace for UFC 133. The card takes place Aug. 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

In his last fight, Menjivar returned to the UFC for the first time since fighting at lightweight against Matt Serra in 2004. The bantamweight defeated Charlie Valencia with a devastating elbow on the undercard of UFC 129. Over the course of his career, Menjivar has defeated Hideo Tokoro, Joe Lauzon and Jeff Curran.

The “Pride of El Salvador” also holds the distinction as being the first opponent in the career of UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

In only his second professional MMA fight, Pace made his mark on the sport. He knocked out Collin Tebo with a flying knee at Bellator 11. The promotion distributed the video, and the resulting buzz significantly raised the level of hype around Pace.

In his WEC debut, he dropped a decision to Demetrious Johnson. However, in his next fight, he improved his record to 6-1 with a pillory-choke submission over Will Campuzano.

Headlining UFC 133 is a light heavyweight fight between former champion Rashad Evans and former NCAA champion Phil Davis. Evans was set to challenge Jon Jones. However, the champion pulled out with an injury.
