Zuffa has officially announced a welterweight bout for UFC 133. Brian Ebersole will meet Dennis Hallman on the card, which is expected to take place on Aug. 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Ebersole made his UFC debut on late notice against Chris Lytle at UFC 127. Lytle was set to face Carlos Condit on the card, but the bout was scrapped due to injury. Ebersole was able to score the upset with his diverse offensive attack.

Before earning a shot in the UFC, Ebersole had won his last seven fights. During the streak he defeated veteran Ian James Schaffa and former UFC champion Carlos Newton. His last defeat came against Bellator champion Hector Lombard in 2008.

Hallman is in the midst of late-career resurgence. After picking up a pair of wins under the Strikeforce banner, he returned to the UFC for the first time since 2005. In Hallman’s return bout, he fell victim to a knockout blow from John Howard. However, since that defeat, he has won back-to-back fights over Ben Saunders and Karo Parisyan.

“Superman” originally made his UFC debut with a submission victory over Matt Hughes at UFC 29. He challenged then-champion Jens Pulver for the lightweight title at UFC 33, but dropped a unanimous decision.
