UFC light heavyweight Thiago Silva has admitted to altering his UFC 125 urine sample in an effort to cover up the use of banned substances, according to MMAJunkie.com.

News broke yesterday that Silva’s test was “inconsistent with human urine.” In a statement to MMAJunkie, Silva said that he suffered a recurrence of a back injury and took “substances prohibited by the Nevada [State] Athletic Commission” to move forward with his UFC 125 fight against Brandon Vera, which he won by unanimous decision.

When Silva first heard of the failed test, he told the following to Tatame (via Google translate):

Looks like they did two tests, one was positive and the other negative. My blood is clean, I’m calm, took nothing.
