Following the final bell in Paul “Semtex” Daley‘s unanimous decision loss to Josh Koscheck at UFC 113 in May 2010, Daley threw a sucker-punch at Koscheck that resulted in Daley getting thrown out of the UFC for life.

UFC President Dana White said Daley would never fight in the UFC again.

Since then, Daley has fought four times in other promotions and won all four fights. On April 9, Daley is scheduled to fight Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz for the title in a Showtime-televised main event in San Diego.

However, with today’s breaking news that Zuffa, the parent company of the UFC, has purchased Strikeforce, Daley is threatening to pull out of his scheduled April 9 bout with Diaz.

In three separate posts on The Undeground, Daley gave his reaction to the acquisition:

Business as usual, what if i dont wanna fight for DANA WHITE?

Daley vs Diaz still on?…..Someone better holla at my manager real quick.

Business as usual, what if i dont wanna fight for DANA WHITE/ZUFFA?……Dana white bans me for life from the UFC, Then buys STRIKEFORCE, and thinks im still gonna be EASY and fight on one of the most anticipated fights of the year (vs Diaz)? Which will no doubt make ZUFFA/Dana White money.

Daley vs Diaz still on?…..Someone better holla at my manager real quick.

Not sure what im gonna do right now, honestly…fight for the Strikeforce and be Strikeforce champ, put money in ZUFFA/Dana Whites pockets? Or fight here in the UK for BAMMA, who appreciate my brand, and have my loyal fans, family and media support me. For real.

Daley, who is from England, mentions BAMMA, the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts, as a promotion he may rather fight for.

Daley just fought for them on Feb. 26 when he scored a first round knockout of Yuya Shirai, so it would likely be an easy transition theoretically.

Whether he could legally get out of his Strikeforce contract is another question.
