UFC veterans Matt Horwich (26-17-1) and Danillo Villefort (12-3) will square off in a middleweight bout to headline Shark Fights 14 on March 11 in Lubbock, Texas.

The promotion announced the match on Feb. 17 and said that it is currently in negotiations to try and secure a television deal.

“Not only is the fight card stacked with exciting fights, “Big” John McCarthy will be the official referee in charge,” Shark Fights President Brent Medley said in a press release. “We are also in negotiations with a major network as we speak and hope to secure a nationally televised deal, so stay tuned!”

Villefort picked up a decision win at the last Shark Fights show over Strikeforce veteran Joey Villasenor. The win was Villefort’s third in a row since losing to Jesse Lennox in his only UFC appearance at UFC 101.

A longtime veteran of the sport, Horwich went 7-4 with the International Fight League, including wins over Benji Radach and current UFC fighter Brian Foster. He then made the move to the UFC, where he dropped back-to-back fights to Dan Miller and Ricardo Almeida.
