Hot on the heels of a highly successful event in New Jersey this past weekend, Strikeforce travels to “The Lone Star State” for “Strikeforce Challengers 14” this Friday night, Feb. 18, at Cedar Park Center in the Austin suburb of Cedar Park, Texas.

The main card will air LIVE on Showtime at 11 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast).

“Strikeforce Challengers 14” features a main event between undefeated lightweight Lyle “Fancy Pants Beerbohm (15-0) and current Maximum Fighting Championship welterweight champion Pat “Bam Bam” Healy (25-17).

Beerbohm went 3-0 in 2010 and is coming off a first round Guillotine Choke submission of Talon Hoffman (3-6) at Rumble on the Ridge 15 this past September. Healy will be an enormous step up from the likes of Hoffman and could present Beerbohm’s biggest challenge to date.

Healy has some major wins under his belt, including victories over Mike Guymon, Carlos Condit, Dan Hardy, Paul Daley and Tiki Ghosn, to name a few. Healy is coming off a last minute submission loss to Josh Thomson at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum” last June.

Other bouts scheduled for the Showtime televised card include Bryan Travers (14-2) vs. Carlo “Neo” Prater (25-10-1) in a 160-pound catchweight bout, Erik “Bad” Apple (10-2) vs. Ryan Larson (5-2) in a welterweight bout, and David “Tarzan” Douglas (5-2) vs. Nick “The Ghost” Gonzalez (16-8, 1 NC) in a 150-pound catchweight bout.

Also, returning to the Strikeforce cage for his second pro bout, son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, Ryan Couture (1-0), will face Houston’s Lee Higgins (2-0) in a lightweight bout.

In non-televised bouts, Aaron Lan Franco (1-0) takes on Thomas Diagne (1-2) at lightweight, and Drew Pendleton (2-0) faces Dennis Dombrow (2-0) at featherweight.
