UFC welterweight contender Carlos Condit (26-5) has suffered a knee injury that will force him to miss a scheduled showdown with Chris Lytle (40-17-4) on Feb. 27 at UFC 127 in Sydney, Australia. Sportsnet.ca first reported the news and MMAJunkie confirmed the report.

Condit is riding a three fight win streak since losing a split decision to Martin Kampmann in his UFC debut. Last time out, Condit beat former title challenger Dan Hardy at UFC 120 via first round knockout.

Lytle has also been on a roll of late, picking up for wins in a row capped by a decision win over Matt Serra at UFC 119.
