Strikeforce on Jan. 31 confirmed several bouts for its upcoming March 5 show in Columbus, Ohio, including a light heavyweight title fight between champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante and Dan Henderson and women’s 135-pound titleholder Marloes Coenen facing Miesha Tate.

The promotion also announced that former middleweight title challenger Tim Kennedy (12-3) will go up against top prospect Luke Rockhold (7-1), while longtime Strikeforce lightweight Billy Evangelista (11-0) will face American Top Team’s Jorge Masvidal (20-6).

In the main event, Feijao (10-2) will defend his title for the first time since winning the belt with a third round TKO win over Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal last August. Henderson (26-8), meanwhile, has held major championships at both middleweight and light heavyweight and is coming off of a devastating first round KO win over Renato “Babalu” Sobral on Dec. 4.

Both fighters have the ability to end the fight on the feet and excel in the clinch, with Henderson a decorated Greco-Roman wrestler and Feijao a talented Muay Thai practitioner.

The other title bout will feature Coenen (18-4), also making her first defense, against Tate (11-2), who earned the top contender spot by winning two fights in one night at an August 13 Strikeforce tournament.

The March 5 show will coincide with the annual Arnold’s Sports Festival.
