Jens “Lil’ Evil” Pulver took on Mike Lindquist in a featherweight bout Saturday night at XFO 38 in Woodstock, Ill.

Although things got off to a rough start for Pulver after getting cut from a punch, he was able to turn things around and ended up finishing Lindquist off with a rear-naked choke in the first round.

Pulver (22-14-1) snapped a six fight losing streak with the win. It was his first victory since Dec. 2007 when he defeated Cub Swanson at WEC 31 with a guillotine choke.

It was Lindquist’s (6-19, 1 NC) fifth loss in a row.

Pulver moved into a room at Jeff Curran‘s Curran Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Crystal Lake, Ill., for three months prior to the fight and credits his training with Team Curran for the victory. Pulver already has another fight scheduled with Chicago Cagefighting Championships in the Spring.
