The highly-touted Julia “Jewel” Budd (1-1) met her match Friday night in Nashville when she took on Brazilian bombshell Amanda “Lioness of the Ring” Nunes (6-1) in a Strikeforce women’s pro MMA 145-pound bout that aired live on Showtime.
The two ladies stood toe-to-toe and let the leather fly, Nunes dropped Budd with a solid shot to the chin, then pounced. Budd tried to lock up Nunes’s leg but ate about seven quick hammerfists that stopped her cold – total fight time: 14 seconds.
The win was Nunes’s sixth straight victory and sixth straight knockout. At 145-pounds there is one woman every female fighter wants and her name is Cyborg. Is Nunes ready for the Strikeforce 145-pound women’s champ or do you think she needs a bit more grooming?
