Former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko could return to action at a Feb. 12 Strikeforce show against Antonio Silva.

The Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix first reported by Tatame is starting to take shape.

To help kick things off, Fedor Emelianenko will face Antonio Silva on Feb. 12 in East Rutherford, N.J., according to Sherdog.com, and a bout between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett may also end up on that fight card.

Sherdog also says that the eight-man field could also include a bout between Fabricio Werdum and Brett Rogers on March 5 in Columbus, Ohio — though the entire tournament roster is not yet set — and Strikeforce Challengers standouts Daniel Cormier, Lavar Johnson, and Shane del Rosario could compete for spots as potential alternates should any injuries occur.

There is no word yet on whether Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem, who also holds the DREAM interim title and won the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix, will participate, though he was mentioned as a possible combatant by Tatame.
