Overeem and Duffee meet for Dynamite!! 2010 in Saitama, Japan.

Alistair Overeem and Todd Duffee finally met together in the same room just hours ago for the official public announcement of their Dynamite!! 2010 heavyweight MMA fight which will take place Dec. 31 at the Saitama Super Arena.

Overeem admits he has not seen much of Duffee and says he does not bother watching videos of his opponents fights. As for why he took this fight, Duffee says he wants to test himself against the best and has no interest in padding his record.

Duffee said he only got seven days notice for this fight and it was a very long plane ride there so although he is not in optimum shape, he says he is mentally prepared and that is most important.

Wearing a shirt that reads, “Doubt Me”, Duffee says with everyone picking Overeem to win, he doesn’t feel he’s getting the respect he deserves and wants to prove a point. He also says his manager told him not to take this fight, but he admits he could not pass up such an opportunity. “When you’ve done the right things in life to get to where you want to be, who’s got the right to tell you that?” Duffee said.

Duffee says he understands why his manager and others think maybe he should not be there, but says there are a lot more reasons why he should be there.

There is still no official word on whether or not the fight will be for the DREAM heavyweight title, something Overeem remains hopeful for.

ProMMAnow.com will provide live play-by-play coverage of this fight and the complete Dynamite!! 2010 card as it broadcasts LIVE on HDNet early Saturday morning. Join us!
