Strikeforce welterweight champ Nick Diaz puts his title on the line against talented boxer KJ Noons this Saturday, Oct. 9, in the “Diaz vs. Noons 2” main event at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. The bout will be a rematch of a 2007 fight that was stopped by the doctor after the first round due cuts over Diaz’s eyes.

Diaz has gone undefeated since then, winning seven straight fights and picking up the Strikeforce 170 lb. title with a first round TKO win over Marius Zaromskis in January of this year. Not only has Diaz won his last seven fights, he’s finished every one of them, five by knockout, two by submission.

Coincidentally, Noons’ last loss was also in 2007. He was knocked out by Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett in the first round at “Elite XC: Destiny” in Mississippi. Since then however, he has strung together six consecutive victories, looks much better these days, and is coming off a highly impressive beat down of Jorge Gurgel at “Strikeforce: Houston” in August.

The hatred between Diaz and Noons is so palpable and serious, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker has hired extra security specifically for this fight.

In the following videos, we get a look into the camps of both fighters. Diaz’s coach Cesar Gracie shares his thoughts about the Stockton fighter, who holds one of only three black belts he’s ever awarded. Diaz wants to prove the first fight ended with an inexperienced doctor stopping a bout too early and Noons wants to prove he is for real and has the better boxing.
