Bellator Fighting Championships announced Monday evening via press release the local feature fights for Bellator 31 taking place at the L’Auberge du Lac Resort in Lake Charles, La. this Thursday, Sept. 30.

Headlining the local card is a  heavyweight match-up between Baton Rouge native Shawn Jordan (9-1) and Mark Hollata (4-2) out of Oklahoma. In the local co-main event, lightweights Kyle Miers (1-0) out of Lake Charles clashes with Mississippi’s John Harris (2-3).

Also, undefeated 165-pounders Mike Chandler (3-0) and Scott Stapp (2-0) clash in a catchweight bout, and rounding out the local card are two Louisiana natives, Tim Ruberg (2-0) and Aaron Davis (1-2) going at it in a middleweight bout.

Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney commented on Bellator’s local feature fights and bringing their special brand of MMA to Lake Charles,

“Our local fight card gives fans a chance to see some of the best talent Louisiana has to offer. We’re excited to bring Bellator’s unique tournament format to a place that appreciates world-class MMA.”

As a reminder, Bellator 31’s main card will feature the women’s tournament semifinals with top pound-for-pound star Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii (21-0) taking on submission specialist Lisa Ward (14-5-1). Zoila “Warrior Princess” Frausto (8-1) takes on Jessica “Jag” Aguilar (9-3) in the other women’s semifinal bout. Undefeated Chris “The Assassin” Lozano (5-0) faces UFC veteran Yoshiyuki “Zenko” Yoshida (11-5) in a welterweight bout and Dave “Pee Wee” Herman (19-2) will face Poland’s Michal Kita (10-4) in a heavyweight match-up.

Bellator 31 will air LIVE on FOX Sports Net on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. CT. ProMMAnow.com will provide live results and play-by-play commentary of all the action.
