The Shine Fights Sept. 10 lightweight tournament, originally scheduled to take place in Fairfax, Va., will instead go down in Oklahoma, due to issues getting a promotional license from the state athletic commission, MMAFighting.com has reported.

The 8-fighter tournament, featuring Drew Fickett, Marcus Aurelio, and Rich Crunkilton, was forced to move because the Virginia State Athletic Commission opposed Shine’s fan-based matchmaking, according to MMAFighting.

The Shine Fights website still says the event will take place in Fairfax at the George Mason University Patriot Center. This isn’t the first time the promotion has run into problems, with its last event ultimately canceled thanks in part to a legal dispute over the use of professional boxer Ricardo Mayorga.
