O’FALLON, MO — The recently formed Fight Me MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) league announced its co-main event for its debut show “Fight Me 1 – The Battle Begins! Finney vs. Neer” which takes place August 14 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, MO.
The co-main event features two of the brightest up and coming light heavyweight stars in the sport, Francisco “Kiko” France and Cale Yarbrough.
Both are still early in their MMA careers, but both have fought marquee competition in marquee shows. Both have been successful, too, as France is 5-1 overall and Yarbrough is 7-1 in his two-year career.
France is a 6-foot-1 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and all five of his wins have come by submission. In those wins, no opponent has made it out of the first round. France’s most recent win came during the Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery event in May.
Yarbrough appeared on Season 7 of the Spike reality show “The Ultimate Fighter.” The Atlanta native has won his last seven fights, including a TKO victory at Strikeforce: Nashville in April.
Yarbrough went 5-0 in 2009 and five of his victories on his current hot streak have come by way of KO or TKO.
The main event of the card will feature Strikeforce veteran and St. Louis native Jesse Finney and UFC veteran Josh Neer in what will surely be an action-packed fight.
The business model for Fight Me features complimentary tickets provided by Fight Me sponsors.
Pre-ticket vouchers for Fight Me tickets will be available leading up to each event and fans can also visit the league’s website to print free tickets.
The debut event will include 8-10 high-quality fights, and the event will also be streamed live on the league’s website in incredible high definition (HD) quality.
