World Victory Road added a lightweight match up between Leo Santos and Sotaro Yamada to Sengoku Raiden Championships 14. The event will take place on Aug. 22 at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.

Yamada moved away from MMA after a draw with Ryoji Suzuki moved his record to 6-4-1. While away from MMA, Yamada began a campaign to improve his grappling. He won the 2010 Deep X Real King grappling tournament and even scored a grappling victory over Ryan Hall. He also won the 2010 FILA Pankration World championship.

In addition to MMA, Santos has competed extensively as a submission wrestler. He is perhaps most notable in MMA circles for submitting UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre with a flying armbar at the 2005 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships. The Nova Uniao product last fought at SRC 12. On that night, he moved his record to 7-3 with a rear-naked-choke victory over Kiuma Kunoku.

In the main event of SRC 14, Jorge Santiago will defend his SRC middleweight title against Kazuo Misaki. Santiago defeated Misaki last year to win the championship.
