Undefeated Strikeforce 135 lb. Women’s Champion Sarah Kaufman (11-0) will defend her title for the first time on Friday against Roxanne Modafferi (15-5). Their fight will serve as the main event for “Strikeforce Challengers 9” which will air live on Showtime from Comcast Arena in Everett, Wash.

Kaufman feels slighted that even though she is the champ, her fight has been relegated to one of Strikeforce’s Challengers Series cards. On Wednesday, just two days before her title defense, she posted an entry on her website entitled “Cookies and Man Parts”:

…seem to be the 2 things that will get me on a main Strikeforce card…that and learning how to shake my assets http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miuv-GiAUok&feature=related
I am currently the Strikeforce Women’s Welterweight Champion…yet I fought for the title on a Challengers Card. Now, I am set to defend said title against Roxanne Modafferi in just a few days – again – on a Challengers Card.

I know that it’s going to be a fun and challenging fight…and I always welcome that. Roxanne has been around the sport for a long time and will come game to fight; however, I need to take this fight and make a statement.
That statement will be: I deserve to be on a main Strikeforce Card because I am a talented, exciting FEMALE fighter at 135lbs! I will NOT eat a ridiculous amount of cookies to make 145lbs JUST for the opportunity to be on a main card and growing man parts… well that would just be ridiculous :D

According to Kaufman, there are three ways to get on a Strikeforce main card: she could “learn how to shake her assets”, beef up to 145 lbs., or become a man.

With Kaufman vs. Modafferi serving as co-main event under Shane Del Rosario vs. Lolohea Mahe, the girl does have a point. Not cool. She’s not even the main event. They have a title shot on the undercard… say what?

How would you feel if you were Kaufman… probably like a second rate citizen.

Regardless, tune in to Showtime, Friday, July 23. If Kaufman can make big enough a statement, maybe they will be forced to move her next fight to the big show. That seems to be her plan.

ProMMAnow.com will provide live results and play-by-play commentary Friday starting at 10:00 p.m. CT.
