Sherdog reporting,

Keith Jardine will get his first post-UFC challenge in promotional champion Trevor Prangley when they meet in a light heavyweight non-title bout at Shark Fights 13 on Sept. 11 in Lubbock, Texas, Sherdog.com has confirmed through both fighters’ camps.

“I’m looking forward to getting back in the cage after my last feeble performance,” Prangley told Sherdog.com on Tuesday. “Keith is a super tough opponent and a real nice guy. It’s good to see Shark Fights getting the higher caliber fighters and putting on consistently better shows.”

Keith Jardine (15-8-1) was cut from the UFC after losing his last four fights. The nail in the coffin was put there by Matt Hamill, who won a unanimous decision over “The Dean of Mean” on June 19 at the TUF 11 Finale.

It will be interesting to see how Jardine can perform outside the UFC. He was with the company for five years and 13 fights. At 34-years-old, does Jardine still have what it takes to make it back to the big show or are The Ultimate Fighter 2 veteran’s days of fighting at the highest level over?

Jardine will have his hands full against Trevor Prangley (22-6-1). The 38-year-old UFC and Strikeforce veteran has some big wins under his belt including Chael Sonnen, Matt Horwich, Travis Lutter, Kyacey Uscola, and Falaniko Vitale, to name a few.

Prangley is coming off a loss, however. He was defeated by Tim Kennedy via first round submission at Strikeforce: Los Angeles on June 16.
