Micah Miller

TAMPA, Fla. – “XFC 11: The Next Generation” took place at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla., Friday night featuring a main event between WEC veteran Micah Miller (14-4, 1 NC) and XFC veteran Bruce Connors (8-2).

It was a big leap in competition for Connors, and the leap proved to be too big for the former Marine sniper. It took Miller, the brother of UFC lightweight Cole Miller, just two minutes to knock Connors out and stop him for the first time in his career.

In the co-main event, Kim “Sugar Free” Couture (2-3) stepped back inside the cage once again to face Marianna “The Crushen Russian” Kheyfets (1-0), who was making her pro debut.

Couture has received criticism, some think unfairly, for trying to ride the coattails of ex-husband, UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture. She started fighting professionally when the two were married and continues to fight and carry his last name although divorced.

Many feel she is in over her head in the fight game and it is hard to argue with that after her performance Friday night. Couture was matched up against a woman with no professional fights and got submitted with a triangle choke in the first round.

In her pro debut she had her jaw broke and subsequently wired shut after a beating from Kim Rose and then got brutally molested by Kerry Vera two fights later, and now this. How much longer will Couture put herself through this?

Right now she is probably making some decent money based on nothing more than looking good, being named Couture, and being willing to take a beating. At least the name will last forever.

Mr. Chris “Beast Boy” Barnett (5-0) was back in action on this card. The breakdancing heavyweight was matched up against the much taller and much more muscular Jay White (4-7).

White is a WEC veteran and has fought some well-known names such as Jeff Monson (twice), Jake O’Brien, Christian Wellisch, and Eddie Sanchez.

The young gun Barnett was not impressed. He swung big and hard and opened the HDNet televised portion of the show with a bang, making White his fourth straight knockout victim, and of course gave the fans a breakdancing celebration.

It’s not every day you get to see a 300 lb. man do a back flip.

  1. not sure why you talk so much about kim couture (who lost) and say basically nothing about marianna kheyfets (1st round – pro debut WINNER)? does her last name need to be emilanenko or lesnar to get any credit?

  2. I use to like Kim Couture but its obvious she cannot fight. I think she’s so unpopular for her now infamous comment that she has a “black girl” fighting style. Well, Kim honey, after seeing your performance oddly enough. I AGREE!

…and i always though black girls were tough… until i saw all these white girls out here absolutely dominating boxing, MMA and street fighting. Nowdays there are sooooo many videos posted ALL OVER YOUTUBE of white girls beating up black girls. WTF! Will someone please go tell this girl that perhaps if she changed her fighting style to that of a “white girl” she wouldn’t be getting her ass handed to her everytime she climbs into that octagon.
