One of Ireland’s top female MMA fighters, Aisling Daly, has been announced as the latest addition to Bellator Fighting Championships Season 3 Women’s Tournament which begins on Aug. 12, 2010, and will air live on FOX Sports Net.

Daly is currently ranked number four among the world’s super flyweights on the Unified Women’s MMA Rankings.

She carries an undefeated record of 9-0 and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Finland’s previously unbeaten Maiju Kujala in Nov. 2009.

Daly is the seventh competitor thus far announced for the Bellator Season 3 Women’s Tournament, all of which are ranked among the top ten in their respective weight classes.

Here is the list:

  • Megumi Fujii (20-0)
  • Rosi Sexton (11-1)
  • Lisa Ward (12-5)
  • Jessica Pene (7-0)
  • Angela Magana (8-4)
  • Lynn Alvarez (5-1)
  • Aisling Daly (9-0)

Daly shared her thoughts on signing a contract to compete in Bellator Fighting Championships Season 3 Women’s Tournament, a decision which will bring her to America to fight for the very first time,

“Bellator is the No.1 organization in the world form women’s MMA right now so I jumped at the chance to sign. They have all of the best female fighters in the world signed and I firmly believe that whoever wins the tournament is the best pound-for-pound female fighter in the world. That’s my goal and that’s what I’m coming to the U.S. to do … nobody will remember who finishes second.”
