KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wrestling superstar Ben Askren pocketed $100,000 for defeating Dan Hornbuckle via unanimous decision in Bellator’s season two welterweight tournament finals Thursday night at the Kansas City Power & Light District. Askren controlled each round by repeatedly taking Hornbuckle to the ground, controlling him, and using ground and pound. Hornbuckle threatened a few times with submissions but Askren always seemed one step ahead.
Also fighting at Bellator 22, Jose Vega knocked out Jarrod Card in the first round and Cole Konrad won a unanimous decision over John Orr.
