Paulo Filho takes out a heavyweight in Brazil

Former WEC middleweight champion Paulo Filho defeated Chilean heavyweight Daniel Gabriel. Gabreil submitted to punches inside the first round. The win marked Filho fourth-straight victory since dropping a decision to Chael Sonnen and receiving the boot from Zuffa.

Also on the card Bitetti Combat veteran and training partner of the Nogueria’s picked up quick victory. He secured a guillotine choke on Jackson Moura and finished the fight in the first round. For more information check out Tatame.com.

Ishii is disqualified, Clay picks up title at X-1

2008 Olympic gold medalist Satoshi Ishii dropped the second fight of his career after the referee disqualified him. The bell at the end of the first round sounded, but Ishii continued to punch despite the referee holding him back.

Japanese language website Nikkan Sports has reported that the result is under review and could be over turned.

Julie Kedzie takes home decision at Jackson’s MMA Series

Elite XC and Bodog Fight veteran Julie Kedzie scored a unanimous decision victory over Malissa Sherwood at the first ever Jackson’s MMA Series event. Kedzie dominated the three-round on both the feet and the ground.

Kitaoka gets back on track, Ura crowned at Pancrase Passion Tour 5

Kengo Ura was crowned the fifth welterweight King of Pancrase over the weekend. Ura and Keiichiro Yamamiya fought for three rounds. All three of the judges scored the bout a 30-30 draw. However, two of the three gave their “Must Decisions” to Ura.

Also on the card, former Sengoku lightweight champion Satoru Kitaoka took a unanimous decision victory over Jorge Rodrigues. the win stopped a two-fight losing streak for Kitaoka.
