Play-by-Play:

Ralph Johnson vs. Forrest Petz

Notes: Johnson is a local guy sporting a mohawk and tatts, got a huge round of applause. Bas Rutten is one of the commentators. This is a welterweight bout. Johnson is 4-0.

Johnson escapes and fires off several shots that miss. Big right hand scores for Petz. Petz fires a big one,two but misses. Petz lands a nice left but doesn’t follow up. What fight are these guys watching? Petz with a leg kick. Johnson with a right but Petz scores with a leg kick and a big left. Both guys swing away as the bell sounds. I give the round 10-9 to Petz and the fight 30-27 to Petz.

Notes: Usually commentating doesn’t bother me that much but there’s a play-by-play guy on here who is driving me absolutely nuts, and Bas is playing into it.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Forrest Petz def. Ralph Johnson by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Ho Jin Kim vs. Lukasz Jurkowski

Notes: It’s South Korea vs. Poland in this one. There’s a ton of Polish fans in the building supporting Jurkowski.

Tara LaRosa vs. Roxanne Modafferi

Notes: Roxy said her stand-up has improved a lot since their first fight. Now we are subjected to Bas singing Green Day. Roxy with a huge grin. LaRosa looking much more serious.

Round 1 – Roxy coming out with leg kicks and punches. Tara fires back. Nice right by Tara. Roxy stalking. Spinning backfist misses by Roxy. Tara grabs a body lock, looking for the takedown. LaRosa gets free of the armbar and gets side control. Roxy gets to her feet using the cage. LaRosa gets a hip toss takedown and has a schoolyard choke. Roxy gets the advantage as LaRosa turtles up. LaRosa stands up, grabs a single leg as Roxy lands a few body shots. Roxy grabs a single leg and struggles with it as the bell sounds. Final round I give to LaRosa 10-9 and the fight to LaRosa 29-28. The knockdown in round three for LaRosa plus the takedown should secure the fight for her, however the submission attempts by Roxy may have given her the round. It was close.

Notes: LaRosa dropped her at the beginning of the round with a punch and got a takedown, but Roxy had her locked in that triangle for some time. It was a hard round to score. It was a close fight and I could have gone with either woman winning it. They are now even, having won one fight each. We definitely need a third one.
