Two-sport athlete KJ Noons will attempt to settle a score in his Strikeforce debut. He is set to take on Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett on Strikeforce’s June 26 offering. The card will take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

Sherdog.com reported the story on Thursday and confirmed it with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker.

Upstart promotion Elite XC hyped Noons as the next great lightweight. However, things got off to a rocky start. Bennet displayed immense power and stopped their would-be poster boy on Elite XC’s first card.

Noons returned from the loss and won four fights. He defeated Yves Edwards for the Elite XC lightweight title and defended it against Nick Diaz before the company closed up shop. He represented Strikeforce on a Dream card in March against Andre “Dida” Amado, and took a unanimous decision victory.

In addition to MMA, Noons has fought extensively in the boxing ring. He carries an 11-2 record with five knockouts. He took a unanimous decision victory over Julio Perez last October.

Bennett is known for his big punching power and inability to stay out of trouble. Since the Noons fight he is 4-3. Bobby Green recently defeated “Krazy Horse” by first-round knockout.

Strikeforce’s June 26 show features a heavyweight fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Fabricio Werdum.
